Welcome
If you suspect you have acid reflux and have not seen your doctor go as soon as possible and get a professional medical examination to confirm it.
I had suffered from G.e.r.d (Gastro esophageal Reflux Disease )as it is also known for years and didnt even know it. This is when the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) becomes weak and opens randomly and stomach contents rise up into the esophagus. This condition is painful, can be life threatening if neglected and effects your quality of life on all levels.
It first came to my attention when I started waking up during the night choking on different occasions.
Then over time gradually a shortness of breath when playing sports or exercising to the point I could not climb a stairs comfortably. I had very few classic symptoms .
It was after my third visit to doctors for my shortness of breath that they decided to send me to a lung specialist and lucky for me he identified the cause as acid reflux going into my lungs during the night while i was sleeping. If you find yourself taken antacids on a regular basis 3 or 4 times a week it is time to go see your doctor.
He will most lightly put you on a very expensive pill Nexium or Prilosec which you should take till you get your heartburn under control and while you are on that look at all the alternative solutions or remedys.
